Given that YX=YZ write an inequality that relates m
Westkost [7]

Answer:

C. m<XYA > m<ZYA.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since XY = YZ, as indicated in the information given, the angles opposite XY and YZ would also be of equal measure of degrees.

Thus, XA = 5. The angle opposite XA is m<XYA.

ZA = 3. The angle opposite ZA is m<ZYA.

Since XA > ZA, therefore,

m<XYA > m<ZYA.

Simplify the product using FOIL (4x-3)(3x+5)
Sphinxa [80]
(4x-3)(3x+5) \\ \\ 12x^2 + 20x - 9x - 15 \\ \\ 12x^2 + 11x - 15 \\ \\

The final result is: 12x<span>² + 11x - 15</span>

Help i need to understand
mote1985 [20]
Using thereoms/postulates, we know that the 60° angle and the (5z - 85)° angle are congruent

so to first find z..
60 = 5z - 85
145 = 5z
29 = z

now that we know z, we can find x
simply replace the z in (5z - 85) with 29
and add the entire angle to x to equal 180
(supplementary angles)
(5(29) - 85) + x = 180
(145 - 85) + x = 185
60 + x = 185
x = 125

x = 125 \\ z = 29

If the denominators are not the same, then you have to use equivalent fractions which do have a common denominator . To do this, you need to find the least common multiple (LCM) of the two denominators. To add fractions with unlike denominators, rename the fractions with a common denominator. Then add and simplify.

https://www.coolmath4kids.com/math-help/fractions/adding-and-subtracting-fractions-different-denominators

For example:
1/2 + 1/3

We need to find something called the least common denominator (LCD)... It's really just the LCM of our denominators, 2 and 3.

The LCM of 2 and 3 is 6. So, our LCD 6.

We need to make this our new denominator...

Change the 1/2:

1 x 3 over 2 x 3 = 3/6

Change the 1/3:

1/2 + 1/3 = 3/6 + 2/6

Now we can do it!

(3+2)/6 = 5/6

Jerome, kevin and seth shared a submarine sandwhich. Jerome ate 1/2 of the sandwich , kevin ate 1/3 of the sandwich, and seth at
Paul [167]

Given:

Jerome ate 1/2 of the sandwich , Kevin ate 1/3 of the sandwich, and Seth ate the rest.

To find:

The ratio of jerome's share to kevin's share to seth's share.

Solution:

Jerome ate 1/2 of the sandwich. So,

Jerome's share = \dfrac{1}{2}

Kevin ate 1/3 of the sandwich. So,

Kevin's share = \dfrac{1}{3}

Seth ate the rest. So,

Seth's share = 1-\dfrac{1}{2}-\dfrac{1}{3}

                     = \dfrac{6-3-2}{6}

                    = \dfrac{1}{6}

The ratio of jerome's share to kevin's share to seth's share is:

\dfrac{1}{2}:\dfrac{1}{3}:\dfrac{1}{6}

To simplify the ratio multiply the ratio by 6.

\dfrac{1}{2}\times 6:\dfrac{1}{3}\times 6:\dfrac{1}{6}\times 6

3:2:1

Therefore, the ratio of jerome's share to kevin's share to seth's share is 3:2:1.
