Why are ecological pyramids shaped as pyramids?
Sonja [21]
Ecological pyramids are drawn where predators are above prey and they show the population number of each organism shown. Therefore, as the pyramid rises, the population number of the organism decreases, ultimately resulting in a roughly pyramidal shape. Since, organisms higher up the food chain tend to be less numerous than those at the preceding trophic levels, the pyramid is often the classic pyramidal shape. The difference in numbers of organisms at different levels can be so great that logarithmic scales have to be used.

Surface tension is often described as “skin” on the surface of water. Why is it described this way?
Elan Coil [88]
Because it creates the same amount of tension for small animals as skin would. That is why some small animals can be on water without sinking. That is surface tension.
