Genetic variation in bacterial made it possible for some individuals to have resistance to the antibiotic, survive, and reproduce is a statement that explains the theory of evolution very well. Some of the bacteria that became resistant to the antibiotics, passes this down the genes for drug resistance. I hope the answer helps you.

Assume that an organism exists in which crossing over does not occur, but that all other processes associated with meiosis occur
MakcuM [25]

Answer:

Option (e).

Explanation:

Meiosis may be defined as the process of cell division in which a single parent cell divides into four daughter cells. The chromosome number reduces to half in meiosis.

Crossing over is the process of exchange of genetic material between the homologous chromosomes of the non-sister chromatids. Crossing over will bring variation in the gametes. Hence, the absence of crossing over results in the formation of gametes with less genetic variation.

Thus, the correct answer is option (e).

Paladinen [302]

Answer:

(a) can be used to bend epithelial sheets into tubes.

Explanation:

The adherens junctions are cell-cell adhesions localized in places exposed to abrasion or mechanical stress, close to the apical membrane in epithelial cells is one of these locations. Some of their functions are the initiation and stabilization of cell-cell adhesion, they join the actin cytoskeleton to the plasma membrane to form adhesive contacts between cells that contribute to the folding and bending of epithelial sheets, therefore they can mediate adhesion and signaling.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!
