Assume the longer piece is x feet long,
Then the other piece is 0.5x feet long
In total: x + 0.5x = 66 -> x = 44
So the longer piece is 44 feet, shorter piece is 22 feet
6 (3/6) + 2 (4/6)
8 (7/6)
Make it a proper fraction
And we get 9 (1/6)
500/20 = 25kcal per piece
8 * 25 = 200kcal.....yes, he is able to have 8 pieces
6 is not a prime as apart from 1 and 6, other factors exist - 2 and 3. ... factor tree example, 36 split into 2 and 18, 18 into 2 and 9 ... Prime factorization of 60: 2 * 2 * 3 * 5; Prime factorization of 61: it's a prime number!
Hi there!
One way to find the solution is to list out all of the possible combinations- which, in most cases, will take a long time.
Another more effective way to find the possible combinations is to multiply the amount of each component together and find the product of all of the amounts of items combined.
In this case, you would multiply:
6 * 3 * 3 * 3 * 3
= 486.
So, there'd be 486 combinations.
Hope this helps!
