Answer:

5.5

Step-by-step explanation:

First you would rearrange the numbers from smallest to biggest or vice versa then you cancel out equal number of numbers on both sides until you get to the middle. If it's an even amount of numbers, like 10, then there will be two in the middle instead of one so in that case you would add the two of them and then divide by two.

For example, -3, -1, 0, 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 13

you would cancel out until you get to the middle which would leave you with 5 and 6 so you add them and divide by two to get 5.5.

Answer:

To do this question, you need to put the numbers in least to greatest. Greatest to least will <u>not</u> work and will be incorrect.

It will be:

-3, -1, 0, 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 13

Now you have to cancel each number out from each end.

You will get the numbers:

5, and 6.

You have to find the average of this so:

5 + 6 = 11

11 ÷ 2 = 5.5

So the answer is 5.5.

Arlene is comparing the prices of two truck rental companies. Company A charges $7 per hour and an additional $30 as service cha
max2010maxim [7]
Part A:
Company A:  $7 per hour +$30 service charge =money spent
Company B:  $8 per hour +$40 service charge =money spent

Part B:
Company A:  $7(8)+$30 = $86
Company B:  $8(8)+$40 = $104

Part C:
Company A:  $7(2)+$30 = $44
Company B:  $8(2)+$40 = $56
      You would save $12 if you use Company A instead of Company B's truck rental.

What is the length and width of a room that is 60 square meters and has a perimeter of 32 meters
AleksAgata [21]
L = lenght
W = width

L * W = 60 \\&#10;2L + 2W=32\\\\&#10;L = \frac{32-2W}{2}\\&#10;\frac{32-2W}{2}*W = 60\\&#10;(16-W)*W = 60\\&#10;-W^{2} + 16W -60 = 0\\\\&#10;&#10;d = 16^{2} - 4*1*60 =  256 - 240 = 16 \\\\&#10;W1 = \frac{-16+\sqrt{16}}{-2} =  \frac{-12}{-2} = 6\\&#10;W2 = \frac{-16-\sqrt{16}}{-2} =  \frac{-20}{-2} = 10\\&#10;&#10;L1 = 10\\&#10;L2 = 6\\&#10;

so

{L,W} = {6,10} or {10,6}

but L > W  so

L = 10
W = 6
