Question 101 pts Suppose that you had consumer group wanted to test to see if weight of participants in a weight loss program ch
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

It would be less than 0.05.

Step-by-step explanation:

The hypothesis test was done to claim that the weight of participants has changed.

The null and alternative hypothesis could be written as:

H_0: \mu=0\\\\H_a: \mu\neq0

being μ the population mean change in weight.

With that information, we can tell that is a two tailed test. Sample means that fall in any of the tails, with a z-statistic over 1.96 or under -1.96 (at a significance level of 0.05), will be evidence to reject the null hypothesis.

The information we have about the sample is the 95% confidence interval calculated from the sample information.

This confidence interval does not include the value μ=0.

Then, there is 2.5% of probabiltity that the population mean is under 2.177, the lower bound of the interval, which includes the value μ=0.

With this information, we can conclude that the P-value have to be under 0.05.

A bag of jelly beans contains 10 red,6 green,7 yellow, and 5 orange jelly beans. What is the probability of randomly choosing a r
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

\text{The Probability is = }\frac{125}{5488}\approx 0.02

Step-by-step explanation:

No. of red jelly = 10

No. of green jelly = 6

No. of yellow jelly = 7

No. of orange jelly = 5

Total number of jelly = 10 + 6 + 7 + 5 = 28

\text{So, Probability of choosing red jelly, P(R) = }\frac{10}{28}=\frac{5}{14}\\\\\text{So, Probability of choosing orange jelly, P(O) = }\frac{5}{28}\\\\\text{Now, Probability of choosing first red , then red and then orange jelly}\\\text{on replacing each jelly after choosing, }\\\\P(R,R,O) = \frac{5}{14}\times \frac{5}{14}\times \frac{5}{28}=\frac{125}{5488}\approx 0.02

Hence, the required probability is 0.02 or 2 %

Joseph says that the product of a four digit number and a 1 digit number is always a four digit number does Joe didn't make sens
mamaluj [8]
The answer is no. Not always.
There are times that the 4 digit number will involve carrying and it will be resulted into 5 digit number.
For example:
9 999 x 9, where 9 999 is a 4 digit number and 9 is a 1 digit number.
When you multiply this one, the answer will be 5 digit number.
9 999
x     9
=> 89 991, thus Joseph's statement does not apply to all multiplication process because  not all 4 digit number multiplied with 1 digit number will result to 4 digit.
