When a pregnant woman ingests substances, the interaction of one substance with another often ______ the effects of one or both?
Anestetic [448]
Increases

In women that are pregnant, the effects of substances are far more adverse than they would be in a normal person, especially if the woman is taking more than one. For this reason, it is important for pregnant women to take as much care as possible of their bodies and refrain completely from smoking and drinking alcohol, as both of these activities are detrimental towards the fetus's health. Pregnant women should even avoid second hand smoke from cigarettes.

Which population dispersion pattern is most commonly seen in the field for most species?
laiz [17]

Types of Dispersion Patterns

 • If you're hiking through a forest, you might notice that some species of plants - like certain flowers or bushes - seem evenly spaced, while others - like wild mushrooms - are clustered together in only certain parts of the habitat.

 • Within any given plant or animal population, or group of individuals of the same species living in the same area, individuals can be spaced in different ways called dispersion patterns. There are three types of dispersion patterns.
 • Clumped dispersion is when individuals in a population are clustered together, creating some patches with many individuals and some patches with no individuals. In uniform dispersion, individuals are spaced evenly throughout an area. And in random dispersion, individuals are arranged without any apparent pattern.
 •
 • In natural populations, random dispersion is rare, while clumped dispersion, which we'll focus on in this lesson, is the most common pattern.
 •
 • Clumped dispersion is often due to an uneven distribution of nutrients or other resources in the environment. It can also be caused by social interactions between individuals. Additionally, in organisms that don't move, such as plants, offspring might be very close to their parents and show clumped dispersion patterns. Let's further examine each of these three reasons for clumped dispersion.

What are the origins of replication in eukaryotic cells in each chromosome?
Irina-Kira [14]
Hi there!

The cell theory states that all cells can make duplicates of themselves. They do this by dividing themselves in half, until they are two cells.

The cell which divides itself in half is called the parent cell, and the cells that are produced from this are called daughter cells.

The origin of the cell, would most likely be the parent cells.

Hope this helps!

Hemophilia is a sex-linked recessive trait in humans. If a father and a son are both hemophiliacs, but the mother is normal, her
saul85 [17]

Answer: XHXh (Note: the H's are superscripts.)

Explanation:

Hemophilia is a sex-linked recessive trait which means that the males having one altered copy of the gene is enough to cause the medical condition( as they have only one X chromosomes and females have two)

In this case the genotype of father and son is such that they are affected by hemophilia. The son has mother's X chromosome and father's Y chromosome.

XhY is the genotype of father and son. As mother would be heterozygous because she is not affected, her genotype will be XHXh.
