At the end of the war, millions of people were dead and millions more homeless, the European economy had collapsed, and much of the European industrial infrastructure had been destroyed. The Soviet Union, too, had been heavily affected. The war changed the economical balance of the world, leaving European countries deep in debt and making the U.S. the leading industrial power and creditor in the world. Inflation shot up in most countries and the German economy was highly affected by having to pay for reparations.

What factors contributed to the westward expansion of the u.s?
Scrat [10]
A biggie: the transcontinental railroad. Because it would economically improve wherever it was, both the North and the South competed for the railroad to be in their respective territory, evidenced by the Kansas-Nebraska Act and the Gadsen Purchase and induction of California as a free state in 1860.

In addition: people could get land cheap because it was abundant and might leave to start afresh economically.

There's other stuff I can't remember as clearly, but there's a little and I hope it helps :)

Answer:

Letter B - India/Pakistan

Explanation:

The venue of the Green Revolution in India allowed to prevent a massive famine in India and Pakistan in the early 1960's, saving a great number of people in this second most populated country of the world.

A Mexican research team introduced a new variety of wheat in India during that period and that earned them a Nobel Prize in 1970.
