So,

If Jazmeen can walk 1/4 mile in 1/5 hour, we can multiply the number of miles by 5 to get the number of miles she walks in 5/5, or 1, hour.

1/4 * 5 = 5/4 or 1.25

Jazmeen can walk 1 1/4 or 1.25 miles every hour.

As for Jazmin, we don't know how fast she's walking.

Since we know how far she can walk in 1/5 (one fifth) of an hour, if we multiply this distance by 5, we will find out how far she can walking in 5/5 (five fifths) of an hour, or to be clear: in one hour.
So, 5 x 1/4 miles = 5/4 or 1.25 miles per hour
Jazmeen can walk 1.25 miles in one hour.

3. In ΔABC, AB = 5 inches and BC = 3 inches. Which of the choices represents all possible values for AC, in inches?
Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

2< AC<8

Step-by-step explanation:

For a triangle to exits sum of two sides must always be greater than the the third side

⇒ AC< AB+ BC =5+3=8 in

⇒AC<8 in

Also, the difference of the two sides must be smaller than the length of third side

⇒ AC> | AB-BC| = |5-3| =2

AC> 2 in

therefore, we can say 2< AC<8. Hence, AC can takes 3,4,5,6 values

Solve for x 3x + 3 - x + (-7) >6
PSYCHO15rus [73]
I think it is x > 5 because if you combine like terms you would get 2x-4>6 then you add 4 To 6 which is 10 then you do 10÷2 which is 5

Solve this multi step equation: 8a + 2(1 - 5a) < 20 (dash under <)
Citrus2011 [14]
Okay. Basically, a is greater than or equal to 9.
First, you do distribute the 2.
8a+2-10a(< or =)20
Subtract two on both sides.
8a-10a(< or =)18
Then subtract 10a from 8a
-2a(< or =)18
Divide by two on both sides
and switch around the greater than sign since you divided by a -2
a(> or =)-9
And if you check, -9 works, -8 works, and -10 doesn't work.
