Ok, so the first thing you should do is find out how much 1 pound of peaches cost. So you divide 4.20 by 2 pounds and you get 2.10 for 1 pound of peaches. Then you multiply 2.10 by 5 to get 10.50. So 5 pounds of peaches will cost 10.50. Also make sure you include a unit for price. Do 5 pounds of peaches cost $10.50 or 10.50 cats? Including a unit in your answer will keep you from losing valuable points on an exam or assignment. :)

Hey!

You can make a proportion:

\frac{2}{\$ 4.20} = \frac{5}{x}

Cross multiply

\$ 4.20 \times 5 = \$ 21

Divide by 2

\$ 21 \div 2 = \$ 10.5

<em>5 pounds would cost $10.50</em>

Good luck and hope this helps! :)

Keisha is reading a 325-page book at a rate of 25 pages per day. Use a point-slope equation to determine wheatger she will finis
Mumz [18]

Answer:

she can't finish reading the book in 10 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Number of pages = 325

Number of pages read per day= 25

Using the linear relation:

y = mx + c

y = number of pages left

m = reading rate ; c = initial number of pages

y = - 25x + 325

Point slope relation :

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

m = slope

We can factorise the equation to the point slope form:

y - 325 = 25(0 - 10)

y - 325 = 0 - 250

y - 325 = - 250

y = - 250 + 325

y = 75

Hence, number of pages left after 10 days = 75, thus she can't finish reading the book in 10 days

How can the order of operations be used to simplify expressions?
Lapatulllka [165]
Order of Operations, also known as PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication & Division, Addition & Subtraction), can help to simplify an equation by guiding you through the steps to solve it.

This is because it tells you to solve the parentheses. If there is none, but you've already done this, you solve for exponents, etc.

The progressive soling of the equation not only makes it physically shorter, but also brings you closer to the answer.

Hope this helps, and I was the brainliest! :)
