Why do we use climate as a way to define a region?

Answer:

Helps us differentiate the similarities of each region. Like characterizing the beach area and a blizzard area, not the same so we classify them by climate and other things.

Climate is useful because it helps us understand the characteristics of a region and predict what it will look like and how conducive to life it is. As humans we like to interpret, understand and record the environment and world we live in, and its phenomenology.
