Answer:

The surface area applies to how much space a SOLID objects occupies while volume is  the space that a substance (solid, liquid, gas, or plasma) or shape occupies or contains, so volume can be anything.

<em>Finding the volume of a figure means finding how much of a unit can fit within that figure. You can find the volume of a figure by multiplying L x W x H. Finding the surface area of a figure means how much area there is on a figure. You can do this by finding each side's area, then add the side's areas together. (If you are finding surface area of a cube, it is 6(L x W). For a rectangular prism, it is a(L x W) + b(L x W).) Basically, the math behind the answer is what makes these two things different.</em>

Answer: M= slope

M= -1/5

Step-by-step explanation:

M= the change in y over the change in x so you would do 1-4 over 13-(-2) which gives you -3 over 15 which is simplified to give you the answer which is -1/5.

Find the unit tangent vector T(t) to the curve r(t) = [sin(t), 1 + t, cos(t)] when t = 0.
ss7ja [257]

Compute the derivative of \mathbf r(t) at t=0 - this will be the tangent vector - then normalize it by dividing it by its magnitude to get the unit tangent vector \mathbf T(t).

\mathbf r(t) = \langle \sin(t), 1+t, \cos(t) \rangle \implies \dfrac{d\mathbf r}{dt} = \langle \cos(t), 1, -\sin(t) \rangle \implies \dfrac{d\mathbf r}{dt}(0) = \langle 1, 1, 0 \rangle

\|\langle1,1,0\rangle\| = \sqrt{1^2+1^2+0^2} = \sqrt2

\implies\mathbf T(0) = \dfrac{\langle1,1,0\rangle}{\sqrt2} = \boxed{\left\langle \dfrac1{\sqrt2}, \dfrac1{\sqrt2}, 0\right\rangle}
