Answer:

a) For this case we can use the binomial model since we assume independent events and the same probability for each trial is the same p =0.15

b) P(X=0)=(10C0)(0.15)^0 (1-0.15)^{10-0}=0.1969

c) P(X=3)=(10C3)(0.15)^3 (1-0.15)^{10-3}=0.1298

d) P(X \geq 1)= 1-P(X

And using the result from part a we got:

P(X \geq 1)= 1-P(X

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

The binomial distribution is a "DISCRETE probability distribution that summarizes the probability that a value will take one of two independent values under a given set of parameters. The assumptions for the binomial distribution are that there is only one outcome for each trial, each trial has the same probability of success, and each trial is mutually exclusive, or independent of each other".

Let X the random variable of interest, on this case we now that:

X \sim Binom(n p)

The probability mass function for the Binomial distribution is given as:

P(X)=(nCx)(p)^x (1-p)^{n-x}

Where (nCx) means combinatory and it's given by this formula:

nCx=\frac{n!}{(n-x)! x!}

Solution to the problem

Part a

For this case we can use the binomial model since we assume independent events and the same probability for each trial is the same p =0.15

Part b

For this case we want this probability:

P(X=0)

And replacing we got:

P(X=0)=(10C0)(0.15)^0 (1-0.15)^{10-0}=0.1969

Part c

For this case we want this probability:

P(X=3)

And replacing we got:

P(X=3)=(10C3)(0.15)^3 (1-0.15)^{10-3}=0.1298

Part d

For this cae we want thi probability:

P(X \geq 1)

And we can use the complment rule and we got:

P(X \geq 1)= 1-P(X

And using the result from part a we got:

P(X \geq 1)= 1-P(X

Can someone help me out with showing work
ivanzaharov [21]

Step-by-step explanation:

a) BEC=90°(right angle triangle)

total degrees of a triangle is 180°

therefore let the missing angle be x

it will be 90+27+x=180

value of X=63°

therefore <BCE=63°

b) since ΔBAD is an

isosceles triangle

ABE must also be 52°total degrees of a triangle is 180°

let the missing angle be Y

it will be 52+52+Y=180

value of Y is 76

therefore <BAD=76°

Answer to problem: 8(-6k-3)=8(3-4k) Please show work. Thank you.
OLga [1]
Hi there!
This problem requires us to solve for k, when solving problems like this it is important to note that what you do to one side of the equation (add, subtract, multiply and/or divide), you MUST do to the other side of the equation. Let's start!

First, we must distribute 8, in this case we need to distribute on BOTH sides of the equation. Remember when we distribute we use the distribution property:
a(c+b)=ac+ab
You must distribute to every number and/or variable present within the parentheses:
(8)(-6k)+(8)(-3)=(8)(3)+(8)(-4k)

Once we multiply the numbers together we have:
-48k-24=24-32k

From here we combine like terms. Like terms are terms that contain the same variable and/or exponential value. For example:
3c and 4c are like terms because they have the same variables
24 and 50 are like terms because they are simply numbers without any variables.

In our problem, we see that we have -48k and -32k these are like terms. Our goal is to cancel out numbers so that we can solve for k.

Lets start by adding 48 to both sides so that we can have all the k's on one side of the equation:

-48k+48k-24=24-32k+48k

Now we have:
-24=24+16k

Now let's get the numbers without the variables on one side, we can do this by subtracting the 24 from the right side of the equation. Remember when we do one thing to one side of the equation we must apply it to both. So we subtract 24 on both sides.
-24-24=24-24+16k

Now we have:
-48=16k

Lastly, we must divide both sides of the equation by -16 to solve for k. We divide by -16 because the opposite of multiplication is division, -16 is currently multiplied by k:
\frac{-48}{-16} = \frac{-16k}{-16}

When we divide we get k=3

Our final answer would be: k=3
