Answer:

Empirical formula is C₅H₁₂O

Molecular formula = C₅H₁₂O

Explanation:

Given data:

Percentage of hydrogen =13.75%

Percentage of carbon = 68.11%

Percentage of oxygen = 18.15%

Empirical formula = ?

Solution:

Number of gram atoms of H = 13.75 / 1.01 = 13.6

Number of gram atoms of O = 18.15 / 16 = 1.13

Number of gram atoms of C = 68.11 / 12 = 5.68

Atomic ratio:

            C                      :      H               :         O

           5.68/1.13           :     13.6/1.13     :       1.13/1.13

            5                      :        12          :        1

C : H : O = 5 : 12 : 1

Empirical formula is C₅H₁₂O.

Molecular formula:

Molecular formula = n (empirical formula)

n = molar mass of compound / empirical formula mass

Empirical formula mass :

5×12 + 12×1.01 + 16×1 = 88.12 g/mol

n = 88.17/ 88.12

n = 1

Molecular formula = n (empirical formula)

Molecular formula = 1 (C₅H₁₂O)

Molecular formula = C₅H₁₂O

Compare and contrast single-bonded compounds and double-bonded compounds.
max2010maxim [7]

The main difference between single double and triple bond is the number of shared electrons. If the shared number is one pair of electrons, the bond will be a single bond, whereas if two atoms bonded by two pairs (four electrons), it will form a double bond.

What is the wavelength of a wave having a frequency of 2.26 * 10 ^ 14 * s ^
liberstina [14]

ν = 2.26 * 10¹⁴ Hz

c = 3.0 * 10⁸

Using wave equation

c = λν

λ = c/ν

λ = 3.0 * 10⁸/2.26 * 10¹⁴

λ = 1.3 * 10⁻⁶

Ionic bonds are formed between metal and nonmetal elements. Potassium has only one valence electron and it is stripped away in t
lbvjy [14]
Refer to the table below. Credits to https://terpconnect.umd.edu/~wbreslyn/chemistry/naming/IonicCharge2.jpg

Cations with (+ ) charges lose electrons in order to obtain an octet (8 valence electrons) when they ionically bond with another ion.  We're looking for the ions that loses electrons here. So, from the table:

Al 3+ , S 2- , O 2-, Ag + , Ne ( noble gas, no charge)

Since Al and Ag has (+) charges, they are going to lose electrons to form ionic bonds with other atoms.
