So you’ll add 3w+5w=8w then multiply the 2 on both side so you cancel the division so 2* 8w/2 -6 =18*2 so youll be left with 8w-6= 36 now youll add 6 to both sides to cancle the subtraction so 8w-6+6=36+6 which will get you to 8w=42 so now you divide the 8 from each side 8w/8=42/8 which will give you the answer which is w= 5.25

Answer:

w=6

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we want to isolate the variable.

Add 6 on both sides

\frac{3w+5w}{2} =24

Multiply both sides by 2.

3w+5w=48

Combine like terms.

8w=48

Divide both sides by 8.

w=6

I hope this helps!

What is the difference in length between a 11/4 inch button and a 3/8 inch button
Nutka1998 [239]

Answer:

\frac{19}{8}

Step-by-step explanation:

First, multiply the two denominators together to get the shared denominator, which will allow you to actually subtract the two numbers. 4 × 8 = 32, so the shared denominator will be 32.

Then, cross-multiply. 11 × 8 = 88, so \frac{11}{4} becomes \frac{88}{32}. 3 × 4 = 12, so \frac{3}{8} becomes \frac{12}{32}.

Now, you can subtract.  \frac{88}{32} -\frac{12}{32} =\frac{76}{32}

Finally, simplify. \frac{76}{32} =\frac{19}{8}. The final difference is \frac{19}{8}.

The polynomial 3x2 is a with a degree of .
ZanzabumX [31]

To determine the degree of a polynomial, you look at every term:

  • if the term involves only one variable, the degree of that term is the exponent of the variable
  • if the term involves more than one variable, the degree of that term is the sum of the exponents of the variables.

So, for example, the degree of 7x^{55} is 55, while the degree of xy^2z^4 is 1+2+4 = 7

Finally, the term of the degree of the polynomial is the highest degree among its terms.

So, 3x^2 is a degree 2 polynomial (although it only has one term)

similarly, x^2y + 3xy^2 + 1 is a degree 3 polynomial: the first two terms have degree 3, because they have exponents 2 and 1.
