Final velocity, v = 36

Time, t = 6 seconds

Acceleration is the change in velocity of a body with time. It obtained using the relation :

Acceleration = (v - u) / t

Acceleration = (36 - 18) / 6

Hence, acceleration of the skier is 3m/s²

However, the act of diving head-first into second base and sliding across the infield are independent actions and will cause friction, which will act upon the player.
