Activation of the GTPase Cdc42 leads to a different set of actin rearrangements from those brought about by activation of the GT

Pase Rho. It is known that Arp2/3 proteins are targets of Cdc42, whereas Formins are targets of Rho1. Both Arp2/3 and Formins promote actin polymerization. Explain why the activation of these two GTPases could lead to differences in the actin cytoskeleton.

Answer:

Arp2/3 and formins differ in their mechanisms of actin polymerization

Explanation:

The actin cytoskeleton plays key roles in diverse cellular processes including, among others, morphogenesis and endocytosis. The Arp2/3 complex and formin family proteins are two different types of actin-binding proteins capable of modulating the dynamics of actin filaments. The Arp2/3 complex is well known to have a key role in spine morphogenesis by promoting the branching of existing actin filaments. On the other hand, formin proteins induce the formation of plasma membrane protrusions by promoting the formation of unbranched filaments.

What are molecules that help make the cell make its proteins correctly
gavmur [86]

Answer:

To build proteins, cells use a complex assembly of molecules called a ribosome. The ribosome assembles amino acids into the proper order and links them together via peptide bonds.

Hope this helps :)

A --------------- serves as a long-term storage area for water or nutrients.
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

The given blank can be filled with reservoir.

Explanation:

A reservoir refers to a natural or man-made lake, pond or pool, which is utilized as a supply of water. It is generally produced using a lock or dam, like in river valleys a dam is used. It comprises a section of the biosphere, which fills in as a long haul zone of stockpiling for supplements or water. A reservoir can be formed by manipulating the flow of water from a prevailing water body.
