Given:

The coordinates of point K' are (6,5).

K' is the image of K after a reflection in the line y=2.

To find:

The coordinates of point K.

Solution:

Let the coordinates of point K are (a,b).

If a figure is reflected over the line y=2, then

(x,y)\to (x,2(2)-y)

(x,y)\to (x,4-y)

Using this formula, the coordinates of image of K are

K(a,b)\to K'(a,4-b)

The coordinates of point K' are (6,5).

K'(a,4-b)=K'(6,5)

On comparing both sides, we get

a=6\text{ and }4-b=5

a=6\text{ and }-b=5-4

a=6\text{ and }-b=1

a=6\text{ and }b=-1

Therefore, the coordinates of point K are (6,-1).

What is the equation of the circle with a diameter of 6 units and a center located at (2, −5) on the coordinate plane? a A b B c
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

(x-2)^2+(y+5)^2=36

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall that the equation of a circle of radius R centered at (x_0,y_0) is given by:

(x-x_0)^2+(y-y_0)^2=R^2

For your particular case: R = 6, x_0 = 2, and y_0 = -5, therefore the equation becomes:

(x-x_0)^2+(y-y_0)^2=R^2\\(x-2)^2+(y-(-5))^2=6^2\\(x-2)^2+(y+5)^2=36

Here’s the repostttt
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

1. we have to find what number lie at A and B , and that too between and 1 and 2 , so these two numbers must be decimal numbers!! So let's find the number of scales between 1 and 2 , we get 8 scales !! So the question is how much place 1 scale will occupy ?? we have to find certain numbers between 1 and 2 , suppose between 1 and 2 we have 1 unit and those 1 unit occupies 8 scales !! so much place 1 scale occupies ?? to get it divide 1 by 8 and we get 0.125 !! so between 1 and 2 ,each blank space or scale occupies 0.125 unit!! now what numbers lie at A ? count the number of scale between 1 and A , we get 3 scales ! now multiply 3 by 0.125 , we get 0.375 , add 1 to 0.375 , we get 1.375 !! hence 1.375 lies at A ! now we have to find which number lies at B ? count the number of blanks or scale , we get 4 ! multiply 4 by 0.125 and we get 0.5 ! add this 0.5 to 1 , we get 1.5 ! therefore the number 1.5 lies at B !!

2. for 2nd number solution refer to the attachment! !

Gilda walks to the train station. If she walks at the rate of 3 mph, she misses her train by 7 minutes. However, if she walks at
lorasvet [3.4K]
We'll represent the distance as d and the time as t.
d= 3(t+7)            because Gilda is 7 minutes late when travelling 3 mph
d= 4(t-5)             because Gilda is 5 minutes early at 4 mph

d= 3t + 21
d= 4t -20
3t +21 =4t -20
41=t
d= 3(41) +21= 144
The distance is 144 miles.
