3 0

Step-by-step explanation:

so the -7 means that the line will cross the y-axis at the point (0,-7). from there, we knows the slope is 3. slope is rise over run, so 3 over 1. we go up 3 and over 1

Could someone please help me with this question? 15 points.

1a) f(x) = I x+2 I. This is a piece-wise graph ( V form)
      x = 0 →f(x) =2 (intercept y-axis)
      x = -2→f(x) = 0 (intercept x-axis)
      x = -3→f(x) = 1 (don't forget this is in absolute numbers)
      x = -4→f(x) = 2 (don't forget this is in absolute numbers)
Now you can graph the V graph

1b) Translation: x to shift (-3) units and y remains the same, then
      f(x-3) = I x - 3 + 2 I = I x-1 I
     the V graph will shift one unit to the right, keeping the same y. Proof:
     f(x) = I x-1 I . Intercept x-axis when I x-1 I = 0, so x= 1

Answer:

  • SU = 2
  • PX = 6 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

The product of distances to the circle along a secant is the same for all secants intersecting a given point.

a. Secants SW and QT intersect at U. Thus ...

  (UT)(UQ) = (US)(UW)

  (1.5)(4) = (SU)(3)

  SU = (4)(1.5)/3

  SU = 2

__

b. Secants PT and PX intersect at P. Thus ...

  (PQ)(PT) = (PR)(PX)

  PX = (PQ)(PT)/PR) = (2.5)(2.5 +4 +1.5)/3 = 20/3

  PX = 6 2/3
