some social issues that are on the rise due to the coronavirus pandemic have been a monumental increase in domestic violence and drug abuse. In a time where stress has just blown through the roof, many people are turning to drugs and others substances to cope. Also being stuck at home means that people who are victims of domestic abuse have nowhere to turn to for help.

Some policies that could be looked into dealing with these issues is providing a safe place for the victims of domestic abuse while still adhering to CDC guidelines. Also, providing therapies and recovery groups will help people overcome their addictions.

Having spent his childhood in the Middle East, Parviz did not begin speaking English until he was a teenager. When he pronounces
anastassius [24]

Answer:

He lost the ability to produce sounds he didn't hear in his native language.

Explanation:

Language development takes places since birth and it goes through a series of different stages, even when we cannot still produce words, we are already developing language by listening to other people's language, babbling and imitating sounds when we are babies.

However, there are also some skills that little babies have and that they lose as they grow older. One of these skills is the ability to differentiate sounds that don't belong in their language. Babies and kids can differentiate these sounds but as they grow older they begin to only recognize sounds that belong to their native language.

In this case, Parviz did not begin speaking english until he was a teenager, therefore, he cannot pronounce the phoneme used in the word "mother", since it doesn't exist in his native language and it comes out as "mudder". This happened because he lost the ability to produce and differentiate sounds he didn't hear in his native language.

vladimir2022 [97]

Answer: The correct answer is: "John and Nancy were raised in Illinois and speak only English. Many of their neighbors, however, have immigrated from countries outside the United States and speak English as a second language. John and Nancy's desire to have a positive relationship with their diverse neighbors illustrates the demographic imperative for studying intercultural communication."

Explanation:

The demographic imperative it's related with the following idea:

The world is becoming a very diverse place in matters of race, sex, sexual orientation, income, among others making some countries very heterogeneous places. For that reason, people are more aware of immigrants' culture, language, and customs as well as how the relationship they have with them is. Therefore, it's essential to take into account the demographic imperative for studying the intercultural communication.

Note: Heterogeneous means differences in a group, culture or population.

Which best states a difference between voting in the us and in other countries
Trava [24]
In the U.S citizens are normally allowed to vote by the age of 18 ( it was once 21). This includes every nationality and both sexes: man and woman. But this may not be the case in middle eastern countries. Many countries over there don't allow woman to vote, and in some cases not even man. Only the powerful people vote count.
