write the equation of the line using the given information. type your awnser in slope intercept form,y=mx+b
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

y=3/-1x+4

Step-by-step explanation:

Okay so first thing you need to know is that if there is an ordered pair (x, y) where x is 0, your y-intercept is your y. For example, your problem has (0, 4) your x is 0 and your y is 4. Therefore your y-intercept is 4 which is the b. To find your mx, or slope, you need to do (y2-y1)/(x2-x1). Your y2 will be your y in your second ordered pair and your y1 will be in your y in the first ordered pair. Same for your x. So, (4-1)/(0-1) which equals 3/-1. 3/-1 is your slope. So, your answer in slop intercept form is: y= 3/-1x+4. You could also try y= -3x+4 if that makes you more comfortable.

I know this is long this is my first time doing this lol.

The sum of two numbers is 39 and the difference is 3. What are the numbers?
frosja888 [35]

Answer: 21 & 18

Step-by-step explanation:

Sum of two numbers is 39

Difference is 3

Let the numbers be x & y

X+y=39........equation 1

X-y=3...........equation 2

X=3+y............equation 3

Substitute equation 3 into equation 1

(3+y)+y=39

3+y+y=39

3+2y=39

2y=39-3

2y=36

Y=36/2

Y=18

Substitute for y in equation 2

X-y=3

X-18=3

X=3+18

X=21

The two numbers are 21 & 18

How do you imagine that you will use measurement in your future career?
tangare [24]

Measurement is used in many careers, but how it will be used depends on what career you want. For example, if I were to become an architect, I will have to use measurement to ensure that a building I'm designing does not collapse due to inconsistencies. On the other hand, if I were to become an animal caretaker, I will have to measure the food each animal receives to ensure that they get a healthy diet. There are many examples, so I can not help with every single one of them.

Which of the following functions best describes this graph?
Katena32 [7]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

If you fill in x=0, you are left with the y intercept. In the picture you can see it must be larger than y=10. This invalidates answer A and D.

The  x-coordinate top of the parabola ax²+bx+c=0 is given by y = -b/2a, so immediately we can see -b has to be positive. This leads you to answer C because -9x implies b=-9, and --9 is positive.
