Answer: c) 14,871
Step-by-step explanation:
See photo attached - if my work doesn’t make sense I can explain it, just ask (:
5 lol it’s simple just use the two numbers in the middle or the one number in the middle
2y + x = 4
x = -2y + 4
y = x^2 - 6x + 8
y = (-2y + 4)^2 - 6(-2y + 4) + 8
y = (-2y + 4)(-2y + 4) + 12y - 24 + 8
y = 4y^2 - 8y - 8y + 16 + 12y - 24 + 8
y = 4y^2 - 4y
4y^2 - 4y - y = 0
4y^2 - 5y = 0
y(4y - 5) = 0
y = 0 x = -2y + 4
x = -2(0) + 4
x = 4
4y - 5 = 0 x = -2y + 4
4y = 5 x = -2(5/4) + 4
y = 5/4 x = -10/4 + 4
x = -10/4 + 16/4
x = 6/4 which reduces to 3/2
so u have 2 sets of points that will work....
(4,0) and (3/2,5/4) <===
Equations and inequalities are figured the same way except for that one rule with inequalities...multiplying/dividing by a negative number changes the inequality sign.
Basically, u get the variable terms on one side and everything else on the other side...then solve for the variable. The only thing that would make it faster is if u had fractions...u would turn those fractions into whole numbers by multiplying by the lowest common denominator.
Other then that, I dont know how u could make it faster.
I believe that answer choice D is correct, I know it is not C, A or D unless your teacher made a mistake presenting answer C. Hope this helps.
