"Many good thanks to those who have arrived! I assume you are certainly enjoying the party, so I will be sure to not disturb you as you waltz. Good day to all!" The queen's voice called down towards all her attendants. Around us all the higher ups danced and talked, giggling in that high pitched voice of theirs, however I sat alone.

"Mayhap you need a partner to dance with?" spoke a boy wearing the finest of silks, approaching me from over yonder, surprising me who sat down on the outskirts of the ballroom.

"Pray pardon, I do not know who you are."

"I trow you have no one to dance with, so I assume I would suffice," he said, sounding rather taken aback.

"I apologize, I have to go to the privy-"

"That is unimportant. Take my hand and waltz with me, for I am the prince."

"Very well," I said, smiling, "My thanks for offering."
