"Mom.. I have something important to tell you.."

"Sure, what is it hun?"

"Y-You're not going to like it, so please don't get super mad at me.."

"It's alright, I'll try to be calm. Now tell me!"

"I... lost my phone."

"You what??"

"I lost it a while ago, I was just so scared at the thought of your reaction.."

"I WARNED YOU ABOUT THIS-"

The mom stares at her for a while, processing her thoughts. She then sighed and said,

"It's alright honey, a lot of things get lost over time."

"You're really not mad?"

"I'm not mad. However, I'm not going to buy you another phone again. You will have to earn the money for it."

"Okay, that's alright.."

Nata [24]

Answer:

Sugar production requires a great deal of workers.

Explanation: In multiple passages in the paragraph, we can see that the author puts emphasis on the number of workers:

"The only way to make a lot of sugar is to engineer a system in which an army of workers swarms through the fields, cuts the cane, and hauls the pile to be crushed into a syrup that flows into the boiling room. There, laboring around the clock, workers cook and clean the bubbling liquid so that the sweetest syrup turns into the sweetest sugar. "

Thus, we can deduce that most likely answer is: Sugar production requires a great deal of workers.

(Hope this helps)

Read this excerpt from "Ain't I a Woman?" by Sojourner Truth. In which three sentences does she make an emotional appeal to the
victus00 [196]
  1. "Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman?"
  2. "I could work as much and eat as much as a man - when I could get it - and bear the lash as well! And ain't I a woman? "
  3. "I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother's grief, none but Jesus heard me! And ain't I a woman?"

With these three sentences, she is appealing to the audience about the disparities between men and women, that there is no equality as the man said.

Sojourner Truth, (1797–1883), was born into slavery in New York State. Some time after gaining her freedom in 1827, she became a well known anti-slavery speaker.
