natita [175]

The health system is characterized by a great diversity and complexity of structures, both legally and financially. It is a set of institutions that aims to improve the health of the population. It contributes to care and prevention.

The components are:

At the top of the echelon, the Ministry of Health, which defines public health policies, exercises control and ensures the cohesion of the system (centralization). The State is the guarantor of the improvement of the sanitary condition of the population;

At the deconcentrated level, administrations such as the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Affairs, the Regional Hospital Agency, the Departmental Directorate of Health and Social Affairs.

At the decentralized level, the health and social services of the departments and communes.

Funding institutions include social protection organizations such as Social Security, Mutuals, Social Assistance, Private Insurance and Provident Institutions.

And the last actor of the health system: the population.
