Step-by-step explanation:

√(a - r) + m = y

√(a - r) = y - m

(a - r) = (y - m)²

a = (y - m)² + r

a = y² - 2my + m² + r.

The answer is the 2nd option.

Solve the system by elimination <br> 2x+6y= -12 <br> 5x-5y= -10
kvv77 [185]
First thing you should do is reduce coefficients.

1st equation has all multiples of '2'. Divide by 2
---> x +3y = -6

2nd equation has multiples of 5. Divide by 5.
---> x - y = 2

Now elimination part is easier.
Eliminate 'x' variable by subtracting 2nd equation from 1st.

   x + 3y = -6
-(x  - y = 2)
----------------------
       4y  = -8

Solve for 'y'
4y = -8

y = (-8)/4 = -2

Substitute value for 'y' back into 2nd equation:
x - (-2) = 2
x + 2 = 2
x = 0

Solution to system is:
x=0, y =-2

Two airplanes are flying in the air at the same height. Airplane A is flying east at 300mi/h and airplane B is flying north at 2
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

\frac{dAB}{dt}=340 mil/h

Step-by-step explanation:

The change of distance over time of the plain A is 300 mi/hour and 200 mi/hour for plane B. O is the point of the airport.

So, the distance from A to O AO = 90 miles and BO = 120 miles.

Now, we have a right triangle here.  We can use the Pythagorean theorem, so the distance between the planes will be:

AB^{2} =AO^{2}+BO^{2} (1)

AB =\sqrt{AO^{2}+BO^{2}}=

AB =\sqrt{90^{2}+120^{2}}=150 miles

If we take the derivative of the equation (1) we could find the change of the distance between planes.

2AB\frac{dAB}{dt}=2AO\frac{dAO}{dt}+2BO\frac{dBO}{dt}

2*150\frac{dAB}{dt}=2*90*300+2*120*200=102000 mil/h

\frac{dAB}{dt}=\frac{102000}{150*2}

Finally,

\frac{dAB}{dt}=340 mil/h

I hope it helps you!

Part 1
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

a)  A n  (B' n C') =  {3, 9}.

b) (AUB) n (BUC) = {2,4,5,6,7,8}

Step-by-step explanation:

a)  Rewriting C ; C = {4,5,6,7,8}

B' = {3,5,7,9} and C' = {2, 3, 9}

so (B' n C') = {3, 9}

and A n  (B' n C') =  {3, 9}.

b)  {A U B} = { 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9} and {B U C} = {2,4,5,6,7,8}

so (AUB) n (BUC) = {2,4,5,6,7,8}
