Answer:

Arachidonic acids

Explanation:

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are drugs used due to their analgesic, anti-inflammatory effects.

It inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme that takes part in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins (PGs) and thromboxane (TX) and the production of eicosanoids.

Eicosanoids are made by the enzymatic or non-enzymatic oxidation of arachidonic acid or from other polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) that are close to arachidonic acid which are 20 carbon units in length.

They are important cell signaling molecules that inhibit inflammation, allergy, fever, regulate abortion of pregnancy and normal childbirth, regulating cell growth.

The __________ of the heart rests on the diaphragm, and from its __________, the great vessels emerge (hint: not chambers)
Sergeu [11.5K]
The answer is apex and base. To simplify, the apex of the heart rests on the diaphragm and from its base, the great vessels emerge. In addition, blood vessels that are nearer to the pumping heart and must enlarge to endure pressure variations are named elastic arteries and foramen ovale permits blood to pass from the right to the left atrium, therefore avoiding to pass the fetal lungs.

Why do living things share fundamental characteristics
Ghella [55]

Answer:

All living organisms share several key characteristics or functions: order, sensitivity or response to the environment, reproduction, growth and development, regulation, homeostasis, and energy processing. When viewed together, these characteristics serve to define life.

Life processes are important to carry out daily life activities. They help to produce energy and maintain homeostasis in the body. The life processes help a body survive with the changes in the environment.

Think about water and how it rolls up in the beach think of all its qualites is it alive according to the characteristics of lif
gogolik [260]

Answer:

No, I don't reckon that water is alive. I don't think that it is "dead" either. It simply just... exists. However, it DOES hold life within it. But the water itself is not alive, because for something to be considered "alive", it must meet the requirements of responding to stimuli, reproducing and growing, and must be dependent on its environment. Water itself cannot be dependent on an environment, because it IS an environment.

This is just my opinion though :)

Some autoimmune diseases show a positive correlation with dramatically decreased expression of histone deacetylase (HDAC9, an en
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

The positive charge of the histone proteins get reduced due to the process of histone acetylation, thus making the wrapping of DNA around the histones less tightened. The loose connected DNA afterward associates with the transcription factors for the articulation of the genes situated in that area.

Generally, when there is no requirement of gene anymore, the acetyl groups from the histones get withdrawn by the activity of histone deacetylase enzyme (HDAC9) that makes the DNA tightly wrapped and inaccessible again. In case, when less expression of histone deacetylase enzyme occurs, the process of deacetylation fails to take place. This indicates that within an immune cell, at the time of infection, the inflammatory gene, which was made available does not get re-wrapped firmly around the histones.

1. Define diffusion.
anygoal [31]

Answer:

1) Diffusion is net movement of anything (e.g., atom, ions, molecules) from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.

2) Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of solvent molecules through a selectively permeable membrane into a region of higher solute concentration, in the direction that tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides

3) One big difference between osmosis and diffusion is that both solvent and solute particles are free to move in diffusion, but in osmosis, only the solvent molecules (water molecules) cross the membrane.

4)  Molecules tend to move from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to do part #2. I think it's a lab.
