Answer:

Explanation:

I can use insulated materials to cover the doors, windows and floors or I use quilted blankets to cover the doors, windows and the floor, this will reduce the sound coming in the room and the sound escaping out of the room.

I can possibly use carpet or floor mats on the floor, especially in front of the door to cover the crack that may be underneath it.

rewona [7]

Answer:

\dot{m_{2}}=0.865 kg/s

Explanation:

\dot{m_1}= 0.5kg/s

from steam tables , at 250 kPa, and at

T₁ = 80⁰C ⇒ h₁ = 335.02 kJ/kg

T₂ = 20⁰C⇒ h₂ = 83.915 kJ/kg

T₃ = 42⁰C ⇒ h₃ = 175.90 kJ/kg

we know

\dot{m_{in}}=\dot{m_{out}}

\dot{m_{1}}+\dot{m_{2}}=\dot{m_{3}}

according to energy balance equation

\dot{m_{in}}h_{in}=\dot{m_{out}}h_{out}

\dot{m_{1}}h_{1}+\dot{m_{2}}h_{2}=\dot{m_{3}}h_{3}

\dot{m_{1}}h_{1}+\dot{m_{2}}h_{2}=(\dot{m_{1}}+\dot{m_{2}})h_{3}\\(0.5\times 335.02)+(\dot{m_{2}}\times 83.915)=(0.5+\dot{m_{2}})175.90\\\dot{m_{2}}=0.865 kg/s

A merry go round exerts a force of 1000 N on a rider on the
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

The radius of the circle made by the person on the merry go round is 74.55 meters

Explanation:

The given parameters are;

The force the merry go round exerts on the rider = 1000 N

The time it takes the merry go round to make one complete revolution = 15 seconds

The weight of the person = 750 N

The radius of the circle made by the person on the merry go round = r

We have;

F_c = \dfrac{m \cdot v^2}{r} = m \cdot \omega ^2 \cdot r

Where;

m = The mass of the person

v = The velocity of the person

F_c = The centrifugal force acting on the person = 1,000 N

r = The radius of the circle made by the person on the merry go round

ω = Angular velocity = 2·π/15 rad/s

We have;

The mass of the person = The weight/(The acceleration due to gravity, g)

∴ The mass of the person = 750/9.81 ≈ 76.45 kg

By substituting the calculated and known values into the equation for  the centripetal force, we have;

F_c = m × ω² × r

1000 = 76.45 × (2·π/15)² × r

r = 1000/(76.45 × (2·π/15)²) = 74.55 m

The radius of the circle made by the person on the merry go round = r = 74.55 m.

NikAS [45]
We are given the mass of an <span>aluminum sculpture which is 145 kg and a horizontal force equal to 668 Newtons. The coefficient of friction can be determined by dividing the horizontal force by the weight of the object. In this case, 668 N / 145 * 9.8 equal to coeff of friction of 0.47</span>

A plane travels down a runway 2750 m before it lifts off at an angle of 37 degrees from the horizontal. The plane has traveled 1
ss7ja [257]

Answer: 4.236km

Explanation:

Let's define the point (x, y) as:

x = horizontal distance moved.

y = vertical distance moved.

If the plane starts in the point (0, 0) then:

"A plane travels down a runway 2750 m before it lifts off..."

At this time, the position will be:

P = (0 + 2750m, 0) = (2750m, 0).

"it lifts off at an angle of 37 degrees from the horizontal. The plane has traveled 1.8 km since its wheels left the ground."

In this case, as the angle is measured from the horizontal, the components will be:

x = 1.8km*cos(37°) = 1.438km

y = 1.8km*sin(37°) =  1.083 km

Then the new position is:

P = (2750m + 1.438 km, 0 + 1.083 km)

Let's write it using the same units for all the quantities:

we know that

1km = 1000m

Then:

2750m = (2750/1000) km = 2.750 km.

Then we can write the new position as:

P = (2.750 km + 1.438km, 1.083km) = (4.188km, 1.083km)

Now, we define the displacement as the distance between the final position and the initial position.

The distance between two points (a, b) and (c, d) is:

D = √( (a  c)^2 + (b - d)^2)

In this case the points are:

(0, 0) for the initial position

(4.188km, 1.083km) for the final position.

And the displacement will be:

D = √( (4.188km - 0)^2 + (1.083 - 0)^2) = 4.236km
