Identify the selection that contains a fragment a. she doesn't give herself enough credit which is too bad b. she doesn't give h
Alex_Xolod [135]
The selection that contains a fragment is B.

Every other sentence contains two distinct clauses put together by the use of a relative pronoun (which in A and C) or a conjunction (so in phrase D). In B, the two clauses "she doesn't give herself enough credit" and "that's too bad" are not linked syntactically and are simply juxtaposed.

Although not grammatically "correct", the use of a fragmented syntax a frequent trait of oral speech.

What is one reason that roger williams wrote a key into the american language?
Varvara68 [4.7K]
Roger Williams was known as a believer in separating Church from State and he was noted for his tolerance of racial and religious differences. One reason why he decided to write a key into the American Language, was so that settlers would be able to communicate more effectively with Native Americans; as a promoter of tolerance and equality, Williams helped promote more stable interactions between settlers and Native Americans.

Use the drop-down menus to identify each italicized phrase as a noun phrase, a verb phrase, or a prepositional phrase.
Katena32 [7]

"We hid Lola's birthday present under the bed" is a prepositional phrase, it modifies a noun or a verb in the sentence with a preposition. In this case the phrase is an adverbial phrase because the preposition "under" is modifying the verb "Hid". If you ask Where the present was hidden? Was hidden under the bed.

"The runner leading the pack is our friend Kirsten" is a noun phrase, this phrase has a Noun, which is "Kirsten" but we can only identified who is Kirsten because of the rest of the prhase. Our friend kirsten is the runner leading the pack.

"The construction workers are building a new house" is a verb phrase, it is composed of the verb to be + ing form (are + building), and gives the idea of continuity. Because of the verbal structure used, is posible to identify that the workers are doing something in a cotinous way instead of a finished action or a reported action, for example.
