Answer:

\approx 12.8

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Approach

Assume that this problem is asking for the value of the shaded region.

To solve this problem, one must find the area of the entire circle. The measure of the arc around the shaded region is given, this measure can be used to find the fraction of the arc around the shaded region is, out of the entire circle. After doing so, multiply the fraction of the arc, by the area of the circle, to find the area of the shaded region.

2. Area of the circle

The formula to find the area of a circle is the following,

A=\pi r^2

Where (\pi) represents the numerical value, (3.1415...), and (r) represents the radius of the circle. The radius of a circle is the distance from the center of the circle to the circumference of the circle, or the outside boundary of the circle.

Substitute in the given values and solve for the area,

A=\pi r^2\\\\A = \pi (7)^2\\\\A = \pi *49\\\\A\approx 153.938

3. Find the fraction that the shaded region takes up

It is given that the arc surrounding the shaded region has a measure of (30 \degree). The central angles theorem states that if the vertex of an arc is the center on the center of the circle, then the measure of the surrounding arc is equal to the measure of the angle. Since there are (360) degrees in the full angle, then the fraction of the are is the measure of the arc over (360). Use this to solve for the fraction that the angle takes up,

\frac{30}{360}

Simplify,

\frac{1}{12}

4. Find the area of the shaded region,

Now multiply the fraction that the arc takes up by the total area of the circle,

49\pi *\frac{1}{12}

Multiply,

\frac{49\pi }{12}

Convert to decimal form,

=12.82817

How is 1/x + 2 - 4/2x +1 equivalent to - 2x + 7 / (x + 2)(2x + 1)
DanielleElmas [232]

We have,

\frac{1}{x + 2}  -  \frac{4}{2x + 1}  \\

Since the denominator isn't same we cannot directly perform any arithmetic operation on the terms, in order to be able to do that we must make the denominator same,

It's like the way we have,
\frac{2}{3}  +  \frac{4}{9}   \\

You know you cannot just add the terms and write the answer as,
\frac{8}{12}  \\
It completely wrong.

each of the terms have different values when when added doesn't gives 8/12.

Let me prove that to you by converting them into decimal values,

so
\frac{2}{3}  = 0.67 \\  \\ and \\  \\  \frac{4}{9}  = 0.43
Adding these two gives, 1.1

and
The result we had earlier equates to,
\frac{8}{12}  =  \frac{4}{3}  = 1.33 \\

You see the results are not equal.

So there must be something wrong.

And the wrong this here was not making the denominators equal,
To do that you basically multiply 2/3 with a 3/3 which may look stange at first but it does gives you same denominator as 4/9 in the form of 6/9.

Now you can add the numerators up and leave the denominator as it is which will give 10/9 = 1.1

Back to you question to show that the terms sperated by = are equal we must show one is identical to another.

Let's do this using the Right hand side,

\frac{( - 2x + 7)}{(x + 2)(2x + 1)}  \\  \\  =  \frac{(2x + 1) -4 (x + 2)}{(x + 2)(2x + 1)}  \\  \\  =    \frac{(2x + 1)}{(x + 2)(2x + 1)}  -  \frac{4(x + 2)}{(x + 2)(2x + 1)}  \\  \\  \frac{1}{x + 2}  -  \frac{4}{2x + 1}

Now this value is clearly equal to the the one on the left hand side of "=" .

Write an exponetial function for the points (1,7.5) (3,16.875) in the form y=a•b^x
Anna11 [10]
16.875=ab^3  (divided by what follows)

7.5=ab^1  gives you:

2.25=b^2

b=1.5 now we can solve for a...

7.5=a(1.5^1), a=5 so the function is:

y=5(1.5^x)

Circle towns limit form a perfectly circular shape that has a population of 20000 in the population density of 480 people per sq
Alex

Answer:

D =\frac{P}{\pi X^2}

And solving for the radius we got:

X = \sqrt{\frac{P}{\pi D}}

And replacing the data given we got:

X = \sqrt{\frac{480 \frac{people}{km^2}}{\pi *20000 people}}= 0.0874Km

And this value converted to meters is X = 87.40 m

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we know the population size P = 20000 and we also know the population density D = 480 \frac{people}{km^2}

We can assume that the area is a circle. We also know that the formula for the population density is given by:

D= \frac{P}{A}

Where P represent the number of people and A the area. Since we are assuming a circle then the area is given by:

A = \pi X^2

With X the radius of the circle

And then the populationd density become:

D =\frac{P}{\pi X^2}

And solving for the radius we got:

X = \sqrt{\frac{P}{\pi D}}

And replacing the data given we got:

X = \sqrt{\frac{480 \frac{people}{km^2}}{\pi *20000 people}}= 0.0874Km

And this value converted to meters is X = 87.40 m

The designated market area (DMA) of Boston has approximately 3 million television households. Audience research shows that 45 pe
inna [77]

Answer:

22.2%

Step-by-step explanation:

The Program rating of a program is the percentage of TV households in an area that are tuned to a specific program during a specific time period.

The designated market area (DMA) of Boston has approximately 3 million television households.

Audience research shows that 45 percent of these households had their sets turned on during a particular Saturday evening.

45% of 3 Million = 0.45 X 3000000 = 1,350,000

Out of these 1,350,000, 300,000 households were watching Sports Stories.

Therefore, the program rating for Sports Stories in the Boston DMA is:

\frac{300000}{1350000} X 100 =22.2\%
