A pulley is in the form of a uniform solid cylinder of radius 7cm and mass 2kg. One end of a very light rope is fixed to wind th

free. When we pull the free end of the rope the pulley starts rotating from rest and accelerates uniformly. If the angular acceleration is 100rad/s2 so the
constant force that we exert on the pulley through the rope is:

Answer:

correct is b  7N

Explanation:

The torque is

         Στ = I α

torque

      τ = F x R

bold, indicate vectors. The magnitude of torque is

    τ = F R sin θ

in this case the angle is 90º so sin 90 = 1

     τ = F R

The moment of inertia of a cylinder

    I = ½ M R²

substitute

      F R = ½ M R² α

      F = ½ M R α

reduce to the SI system

     R = 7 cm (1m / 100cm) = 0.07 m

calculate

      F = ½ 2 0.07 100

      F = 7 N

What is the main determining factor in defining boundaries between layers of earth's atmosphere?
konstantin123 [22]
The main determining factor in defining boundaries between layers of earth's atmosphere would be temperature changes in these layers. Temperature is one essential property that varies in the atmosphere. Based from this variation, the atmosphere is divided into four major layers and further to three smaller layers -  troposphere, tropopause, the stratosphere,  stratopause, the mesosphere, mesopause, and the thermosphere.The troposphere is the layer that is nearest to the surface of the Earth. It is the part where humans, plants and animals survive. Also, it is the warmest layer of the atmosphere. And as we go higher the atmosphere, the temperature would drop making it much cooler.

If an object force of 50 N is used to move an object a distance of 20 m, what distance must the object be moved if the input for
steposvetlana [31]

Answer:

\ d_{out} = 100 \ m.

Explanation:

Given data:

F_{in} = 50 \ \rm N

F_{out} = 10 \ \rm N

d_{in} = 20 \ m

Let the distance traveled by the object in the second case be d_{out}.

In the given problem, work done by the forces are same in both the cases.

Thus,

W_{in} = W_{out}

F_{in}.d_{in} = F_{out}.d_{out}

\Rightarrow \ d_{out} = \frac{F_{in}.d_{in}}{F_{out}}

\ d_{out} = \frac{50 \times 20}{10}

\ d_{out} = 100 \ m.

If a vehicle accelerating at 2.7 m/s2what is it's velocity at 20 meters 12.63m/s,1.03m/s,10.39m/s,6.39m/s
netineya [11]

Answer:

The final velocity of the vehicle is 10.39 m/s.

Explanation:

Given;

acceleration of the vehicle, a = 2.7 m/s²

distance moved by the vehicle, d = 20 m

The final velocity of the vehicle is calculated using the following kinematic equation;

v² = u² + 2ah

v² = 0 + 2 x 2.7 x 20

v² = 108

v = √108

v = 10.39 m/s

Therefore, the final velocity of the vehicle is 10.39 m/s.
