In ice the molecules are stuck rigidly together and vibrate in place. In liquid water they slide and bump past one another. In water vapor they are much farther apart and they bounce around freely.

If you apply an unbalanced force to this object it will ______. Mention all that will apply: change velocity, accelerate, change
Papessa [141]

Answer:

All of them: change velocity, accelerate, change position

Explanation:

We can answer this question by using Newton's second law:

F = ma

where

F is the net force on the object

m is the mass of the object

a is the acceleration

We notice that when there is an unbalanced force on the object, F\neq 0, and therefore

a\neq 0

whcih means that the object will accelerate.

But acceleration is the rate of change of velocity, v:

a=\frac{\Delta v}{\Delta t}

And so,

\Delta v \neq 0

which means that the object will change velocity.

If the object is changing velocity, this means that it is also moving: therefore, the position of the object must be changing, so also the option "change position" is correct.

A force of magnitude 33.73 lb directed toward the right is exerted on an object. What other force must be applied to the object
vova2212 [387]

Answer:

33.73 lb to the left

Explanation:

You need to exert a force with the same magnitude, but opposite direction. You can visualize it in this way: When you push an object, the object will follow your path, but if there is another person opposing the force you are exerting, the object will just not move. If the force that the other person exerts were higher, then the object would move in the opposite direction. So, you need them to have the same magnitude.

Starting from a location with position vector r1,x =−17.5 m and r1,y=23.1 m , a rabbit hops around for 10.7 seconds with average
lawyer [7]

The kinematics of the uniform motion allows us to find the final position vector

           r = (-41.575 i + 42.253 j) m

Given parameters

  • the starting position x = -17.5 m y = 23.1 m
  • jump time t = 10.7 s
  • The average velocities vₓ = -2.25 m / s and v_y = 1.79 m / s

to find

  • the final position

The uniform motion occurs when the velocity of the bodies is constant, in this case the relationship can be used for each axis

               v = \frac{x-x_o}{t}

               x = x₀ + v t

Where vₓ it  is the velocity, x the displacement, x₀ the initial position and t the time

Let's set a reference system with the horizontal x-axis. Regarding which we carry out the measurements

X axis

we look for the final position

           x = x₀ + vₓ t

           x = -17.5 -2.25 10.7

           x = -41.575 m

Y Axis

we look for the final position

           y = y₀ + v_y t

           y = 23.1 + 1.79 10.7

          y = 42.253 m

In conclusion, using the kinematics of uniform motion, find the final position vector

           r = (-41.575 i + 42.253 j) m
