What error in the data is likely to occur if the hydrated salt is heated strongly

Chemistry

Answer:

If the hydrated salt is overheated, it causes the anhydrous salt to decompose, causing the product to be lost as gas. The reported percentage of water loss will be too high because the gap between the initial measurement and final (which will be lower due to loss of sample) measurement will widen.

In contracting skeletal muscle, a sudden elevation of cytosolic Ca2 concentration will result in: Inactivation of phosphorylase
skad [1K]

Answer:

ACTIVATION OF PHOSPHORYLASE KINASE AND ALLOSTERICALLY ACTIVATION OF PHOSPHORYLASE KINASE B

Explanation:

In a contracting skeletal muscle, there is a rapid need of ATP by the muscle cell. The energy need is obtained by the degradation of glycogen into glucose which then enters glycolysis.  Muscle contraction causes muscle depolarization in which there is the rapid influx of calcium ions from the sarcoplasmic reticulum into the sacroplasm of the myocytes. This in turn causes the binding of calcium ion with calmodulin which thenb activates phosphorylase kinase from which it  allosterically activate the b form of the enzyme needed for the conversion of glycogen to glucose. The other options do not occur as a result of increase in cytolic calcium concentration.

Many portable gas heaters and grills use propane, C3H8(g). Using enthalpies of formation, calculate the quantity of heat produce
Elodia [21]

Answer:  600 kJ

-

Explanation:

                        C₃H₈ (g)  + 5 O₂ (g) =============== 3 CO₂ (g)  +  4 H₂O (l)

Δ⁰Hf   kJ/mol       -104             0                                       -393.5         -285.8

Δ⁰Hcomb C₃H₈ = 3(-393.5) + 4 (-285.80) - (-104)  kJ/mol

Δ⁰Hcomb = 2219.70 kJ/mol

n= m /MW   MW c₃H₈ = 44.1 g/mol

n= 12 g/44.1 g/mol = 0.27 mol

then for 12 g the heat released will be

0.27 mol x 2219.70 kJ/mol =  600 KJ

Given the following equation, what is the correct form of the conversion factor needed to convert the number of moles O2 to the
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

Option A says we have 4 moles of Fe for each 3 moles O2

This is correct For 3 moles of O2 consumed, we need 4 moles of Fe to be reacted

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Step 2: The balanced equation

4Fe + 3O2 → 2Fe2O3

Step 3: Calculate the mol ratio

For 3 moles O2 we'll have 4 moles Fe

Option A says we have 4 moles of Fe for each 3 moles O2

This is correct For 3 moles of O2 consumed, we need 4 moles of Fe to be reacted

Option b says we have 2 mole Fe2O3 for each 4 moles Fe

This doesnt say anything about O2. So doesn't apply for this question.

Option C says we have 4 moles of Fe for each 2 moles Fe2O3

This is the same as option B, so doesn't apply for this question.

Option D says for each 3 moles of O2 we have 2 Fe2O3

This is true, but doesn't say anything about Fe so doesn't apply here.

Write a nuclear reaction for the neutron-induced fission of u?235 to produce te?137 and zr?97. how many neutrons are produced in
alexandr1967 [171]
This is a neutron induced fission, therefore a neutron will be added to the U²³⁵ to cause the reaction, and thus it will be added to the left side. There will be unknown number of neutrons produced and thus we put this on the right hand side.
n₁ + U²³⁵ = Te¹³⁷ + Zr ⁹⁷ + xn1 ( n1 to mean a neutron of mass 1)
To balance the masses on both sides of the equation;
1 + 235 = 137 +97+ x
x = 2
the end reaction will be
n₁ +U²³⁵ = Te¹³⁷ + Zr⁹⁷ + 2 n₁
