While dining at yet another 5 star restaurant, which is my normal, I received the bill for $95.11 which by the way included an a

utomatic 15% p. Because my generosity is my weakness, I wanted to leave a 20% p, instead. How much should I add to the bill to make this happen?

Answer:

$16.54

Step-by-step explanation:

First step we need to do is to find the bill without the 15% tips:

95.11 = 1.15x

x = $82.70 is the original bill

Now we can add the 20% tips and multiply it into the original:

82.70 x 1.2 = $99.24 is the new bill

To find out how much you tipped:

99.24 - 82.7 = $16.54 is your new tip

If 3a +5b =10 and 5a +3b =30 what is the average of a and b?
saw5 [17]

Hello, please consider the following.

3a+5b + 5a + 3b = 8(a+b)=10+30=40\\\\a+b=\dfrac{40}{8}=5

And the average is

\dfrac{a+b}{2}\boxed{=\dfrac{5}{2}}

Thank you.

Mrs. Taylor is planning a pizza party for her students. She plans to purchase cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza for her students
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

She needs 12 pizzas

x + y = 12

She also can't spend more than 180 dollars.

8x + 11y < 180 She can get all 12 pizzas and have the bill come to 132 dollars

11 * 12 = 132

She could really be kind to her pocket book and get all cheese pizzas

8*12 = 96 which saves her 36 dollars.

So any number of either kind will do.

(0,12) = 132

(1,11) = 8*1 + 11*11 = 129

and so on down the line
