Y3 = y x 3 = 4 x 3 = 12
4z = 4 x z = 4 x 6 = 24

12 + 24 - 16

Im using PEMDAS I’m not sure if you use another order of operations if you do just do the expression your way

12 + 24 = 36
36 - 16 = 20

A. 20

The area of a trapezium is 360 cm² and its height is 18 cm. If one of the parallel sides is longer than the other by 6 cm, then
Leokris [45]

Answer:

The two parallel sides a and b are 17 cm and 23 cm respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a trapezium = {(a+b)/2} h

Where

h = height = 18 cm

a = parallel side 1 = x

b = parallel side 2 = x + 6

Area of a trapezium = {(a+b)/2} h

360 = {(x + x + 6) / 2} 18

360 = { (2x + 6) / 2} 18

360 = (2x + 6) 9

360 = 18x + 54

Subtract 54 from both sides

360 - 54 = 18x

306 = 18x

Divide both sides by 18

x = 306 / 18

= 17

x = 17 cm

a = parallel side 1 = x

x = 17 cm

b = parallel side 2 = x + 6

x + 6

= 17 + 6

= 23 cm

Factor to solve:<br>x² + 18x +27 = 8x +3
patriot [66]

Answer: x=-4 or x=-6

<u>Subtract 8x+3 from both sides</u>

<u></u>x^2+18x+27-(8x+3)=8x+3-(8x+3)<u></u>

<u></u>x2+10x+24=0<u></u>

<u></u>

<u>Factor left side of equation</u>

<u></u>(x+4)(x+6)=0<u></u>

<u></u>

<u>Set factors equal to 0</u>

<u></u>x+4=0 or x+6=0

Which of the following is the equation written in logarithmic form?
BaLLatris [955]

Given the expression b^{3c+1}=5a-d.

Take a logarithm \log_b from both side of the given expression:

\log_b b^{3c+1}=\log_b (5a-d).

From the property \log_a a^x=x, you have that

\log_b b^{3c+1}=3c+1.

Then

3c+1=\log_b (5a-d).
