ABO blood grouping is a typical example of codominance.

Further Explanation:

Codominance refers to the relationship between the two different versions of the gene. An individual receives one version of the gene, which is called as allele from each parent. In case the alleles are different, the dominant allele is usually expressed, whereas the effect of the other allele is known as recessive, which is masked.

In codominance, neither the allele is recessive and both the alleles are expressed phenotypically. It can be spotted easily in animals as well as plants that have more than one pigment color. Spotted flowers and cows of two different colors are some of the examples of codominance. It also occurs in the less visible traits like blood type. The A, as well as B alleles for the blood type, can be expressed simultaneously, which leads to the formation of AB blood type. The O allele does not code for any protein, so the individuals with O do not have A and B proteins. The O allele is known to be a good example of a dominant-recessive relationship.

Codominance can be observed in livestock. When the chicken has white feathers breed with the chicken having black feathers and the resultant is the offspring, which grows up to have white as well as black feathers.

Codominance refers to a kind of dominance wherein the alleles of a gene pair in a heterozygote are completely expressed. This gives rise to an offspring exhibiting a phenotype, which is neither recessive nor dominant.

The examples of codominance comprise an individual with type AB blood group, which signifies that both the A and B allele are expressed equivalently.

Explain how horned toads squirting blood from their eyes is a particularly good defense against coyotes.
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

A stream of nasty-tasting blood squirts from the toads eyes, straight into the coyote's mouth. The coyote steps back, shaking its head from side to side in disgust. It retreats, wiping its muzzle, while the uninjured toad skitters away to safety.
