If a population is steady at its carrying capacity, but then a group of organisms from that species moves in to the same space o
baherus [9]

Answer:

It will remain relatively stable

Explanation:

The carrying capacity (k) of an environment is a factor that represents the maximum number of organisms of a particular species such environment can support based on the resources it has.

Below the carrying capacity, the population of a species still has the potential to increase due to resource availability, and above the carrying capacity, the population has the potential to reduce due to the overstretching of the available resources. Factors that keep the population from expanding significantly beyond the carrying capacity include competition for resources, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, etc.

Hence, if a population is steady at its carrying capacity and a group of organisms from that species moves into the same space occupied by the original population, the carrying capacity will only increase temporarily before factors such as competition and natural disasters operate to bring the carrying capacity to the normal level.

explain how a change in the sequence of nucleotide in a strand of DNA might cause a protein to malfunction
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer: Proteins are made using DNA as a template. The DNA is turned into RNA, and the RNA is then turned into DNA.

A change in these nucleotides could end up making some part of the protein different. A single nucleotide change could be silent (no change in the protein) or could change a single amino acid (amino acids are the building blocks of proteins). If that was an important amino acid, the protein might not function at all! A silent change can occur because the same set of nucleotides sometimes makes the same final amino acid (for example, reading "gcc" "gca" "gcg" or "gct" nucleotides all mean "alanine" amino acid).

The deletion of a single nucleotide, or the addition of one, can change the entire sequence of amino acids that come after it! Nucleotides are read in sets of three, so this throws off how the DNA is read. If would be like turning "The brown fox jumps over the dog" into "The gbrow nfo xjump sove rth edo g". Completely different! All of the words are thrown off.

I know it is long but I hope it helped

Parts of the earth that are utilized in the nitrogen cycle
miskamm [114]

Answer:

Atmosphere and geosphere is the part of the earth which is utilized in the nitrogen cycle.

Explanation:

In nitrogen cycle, the nitrogen which is present in the atmosphere comes down to the earth surface through rainfall. This nitrogen is absorbed by the earth and taken by roots of plants. Some amount of nitrogen is taken by many bacteria such as denitrifying bacteria which converts the soil nitrogen into atmospheric nitrogen and the nitrogen goes again to the atmosphere.
