Simply divide 53/4=13.25 or 13 1/4. And you can see this answer proven by saying 13x4=52, meaning there would be one extra nail.

Please help. Write as a single logarithm, a) log(13)+log(4) b) log(small 5)(14)-log(small 5)(2)
dsp73

Answer:

a) \log 52

b) \log_57

Step-by-step explanation:

Use logarithm properties:

\log_ab+\log_ac=\log_a(b\cdot c)\\ \\\log_ab-\log_ac=\log_a\dfrac{b}{c}

Then

a) \log 13+\log 4=\log 13\cdot 4=\log 52

b) \log_514-\log _52=\log _5\dfrac{14}{2}=\log _57

tatuchka [14]
9x² - 49

(3x)² - (7)²

= (3x + 7)(3x - 7)

This type of factoring is called Difference of Two Squares

where x² - y² = (x + y)(x - y)

What are rational numbers
Sophie [7]
A rational number is a number that can be written as a fraction or "ratio".
It includes the set of integers because all of them have a denominator of 1.  A rational number can take on the form of \frac{a}{b} where b ≠ 0.  Terminating and repeating decimals are rational numbers because they too can be written as a ratio; for example, 0.3 = \frac{3}{10} or 0.3333... = \frac{1}{3}.

1 1/3 divided by 3 + 1/3
Phantasy [73]
The first step to solve this problem is to convert the first mixed number to an improper fraction.
\frac{4}{3} ÷ 3 + \frac{1}{3}
Dividing is equivalent to multiplying with the reciprocal value,, so next you will need to change the signs.
\frac{4}{3} x \frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{3}
Multiply the fractions
\frac{4}{9} + \frac{1}{3}
Finally,, add the two fractions together to get your final answer
\frac{7}{9}
This means that the correct answer to your question is \frac{7}{9} .
