Answer:

x=4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's solve the equation:

3x+12=4x+8

12=4x-3x+8

12=x+8

12-8=x

4=x

x=4

The way i got this answer was by solving the equation using the following steps. Since you're solving for one side and have two different equations, put an equal sign in between the two equations to get the equation set up above. Then you need to have the x variable on one side, instead of both sides, so you take 3x and subtract it from both sides, leaving x on one side, because 4x-3x is equal to 1x, or just x. Then we need to have what is not attached to a variable on the other side to make it easier to solve, so you would need to subtract 8 from both sides to get rid of the 8 on the side with the variable, because if you subtract 12 from both sides, it will just make it more confusing to solve, and then 12-8 is equal to 4, so you get x is equal to 4.

What is the value of log Subscript 6 Baseline StartFraction 1 Over 36 EndFraction?
loris [4]

Answer:

-2

Step-by-step explanation:

Let  x be the unknown value

Log₆  ( 1/36) = x

( 1/36) = 36⁻¹ = (6²)⁻¹ = 6⁻²

Log₆  ( 1/36) = Log₆ 6⁻²  = -2 Log₆ 6

Log₆ 6 = 1

-2 Log₆ 6 = -2(1) = -2

PLEASE HELP!! DUE REALLY SOON (LINK)
andre [41]

Answer:

youngest=115

middle=150

elder=230

Step-by-step explanation:

let the youngest be x

the middle will be x+35

the oldest will be 2x

x+x+35+2x=495

4x+35=495

4x=495-35

4x=460

x=115

since the youngest is x,the money he will receive is $115.

the middle will be x+35 which is equal to 115+35=$150.

lastly the oldest will be 2x which is equal to 2×115=$230.

Yuri [45]
3 hours and 45 minutes

The equation can be solves by adding their two efforts together in a ration equation. See below.

5/x + 15/x = 1

Then give them common denominators and add and solve.

0.35/((2/3)x) = 0.45/(x−10)
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
X=70 because you have to convert the decimals to fractions so that the .35 equals 7/20 and .45 equals 9/20 then simplify the complex fractions on each side so 7/20 over 2X/3 equals 21/40X and the 9/20 over the X-10 equals 9/20(X-10), then cross multiply to get 420 (X-10)= 320X, next you would distribute the 420 through the parenthesis to get 420X-4200=360X, then add 4200 to both sides so 420X on its own then add 360X on both sides so both X's are on the same side then combine like terms and get 60X on the left, then divide both sides by 60 so X is on its own so X=70
