The easy way to make YBCO involves multiple rounds of pulverizing yttrium oxide, barium chloride carbonate, and copper oxide together and heating them in a furnace. That works, sort of, but [Ben] wanted more, so he performed a pyrophoric reaction instead.

Answer:

Synthesis of a Superconductor. The YBa2Cu3O7-x is prepared by grinding the reactants together, strongly heating "calcinating" at 900–950 °C for 8-12 hours, pelletizing the powder mixture, heating or "sintering" the pellet at 950 °C for 12 or more hours, then maintaining the product at 500°C for 12-16 hours.

Why chlorine is more reactive than hydrogen
Lynna [10]

Answer:

Hi Todoroki here!!!

Explanation:

Chlorine has the electron configuration [Ne]3s 2 3p 5, with the seven electrons in the third and outermost shell acting as its valence electrons. Like all halogens, it is thus one electron short of a full octet, and is hence a strong oxidising agent, reacting with many elements in order to complete its outer shell.

Your welcome!!
