Let <em>x</em> be the first number in the sequence. Then the first three numbers are

{<em>x</em>, <em>x</em> + 3, <em>x</em> + 6}

The next sentence says that the sequence

{<em>x</em> + 1, <em>x</em> + 9, <em>x</em> + 25}

is geometric, which means there is some fixed number <em>r</em> for which

<em>x</em> + 9 = <em>r</em> (<em>x</em> + 1)

<em>x</em> + 25 = <em>r</em> (<em>x</em> + 9)

Solve for <em>r</em> :

<em>r</em> = (<em>x</em> + 9)/(<em>x</em> + 1) = (<em>x</em> + 25)/(<em>x</em> + 9)

Solve for <em>x</em> :

(<em>x</em> + 9)² = (<em>x</em> + 25) (<em>x</em> + 1)

<em>x</em> ² + 18<em>x</em> + 81 = <em>x</em> ² + 26<em>x</em> + 25

8<em>x</em> = 56

<em>x</em> = 7

Then the three numbers are

{7, 10, 13}

Advocard [28]

Answer:

<h3>120 different ways</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the combination formula as shown;

nCr = n!/(n-r)!r!

If a stack of 10 different cards are shuffled and spread out face down. If 3 cards are turned face up, the number of different ways 3cards combinations are possible is expressed as;

10C3 = 10!/(10-3)!3!

10C3 = 10!/(7)!3!

10C3 = 10*9*8*7!/7!*3*2

10C3 = 10*9*8/3*2

10C3 = 720/6

10C3 = 120 different ways

Hence there are 120 different card combinations

Write the equation of the line that passes through each pair of points in slope-intercept form. This is worth 3 points. You have
LekaFEV [45]
(0,5)(3,-1)
slope = (-1 - 5) / (3 - 0) = -6/3 = -2

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -2
(use either of ur points...(0,5)...x = 0 and y = 5
now we sub and find b, the y int
5 = -2(0) + b
5 = b

so ur line is : y = -2x + 5
