Answer:

The equation is in the form of <em>y = mx + b </em>which make it really easy to graph.

m = the slope

b = the y-intercept

You can make the first point at the y-intercept.

Where x = 0 and y = 2, or plot the point ( 0, 2 ).

Next we use the slope to start plotting new points.

The slope is 3 which, in rise over run form, is \frac{3}{1} . Since 3 is positive we go up 3 units from the y-intercept and 1 to the right because it's positive. This makes a point at ( 1, 5 ). Then from that point go up 3 and 1 to the right again to get ( 2, 8 ).

We can continue using the slope to plot more points and then draw a continuous line through them to finish graphing the linear function.

Answer:

3 is your slope, 2 is the y intercept

Step-by-step explanation:

Start at (0,2) or 2 on the y axis. Your slope is 3 or, 3/1 slope is always rise over run, so for every 3 you go up, you go over one. so make a dot at (0,2), then a dot at (1,5), then at (2,8). and so on. Always go to the right one and up three. If you need to go into the negatives, you will go left 3 and down one, so (-1,-1), then (-2,-4), and so on.

How many solutions does 4x + 2(x – 3) = 4x + 2x – 11 have?
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

4x + 2(x – 3) = 4x + 2x – 11

4x + 2x - 6 = 4x + 2x - 11

6x - 6 = 6x - 11

-6 = -11

There is no solution because -6 does NOT equal -11

galben [10]

Answer:

5 $20 bills and 7 $10 bills

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to have 12 bills, and their values must add up to $170. Start with a guess, and adjust the guess until you find the answer.

The total number of $20 bills and $10 bills must be 10.

I made a table below. I started with a guess and kept adjusting it.

Number of          Number of          Total

$20 bills               $10 bills               Value

8   ($160)              4    ($40)              $200      Value is too high.

6   ($120)              6    ($60)              $180       Value is close

5   ($100)              7    ($70)               $70        Correct value

Answer: 5 $20 bills and 7 $10 bills
