Solving for m
get m's together
minus xm both sies
8m-xm=p
undistribute m
m(8-x)=p
divide both sides by 8-x
m=p/(8-x)
or
m=-p/(x-8)

We have 8m=xm+p.

Then substracting both side with xm we get

8m-xm=p.

Using distribution rule, we have

(8-x)m=p

Assuming x is not equal to 8, we divide both side by (8-x) to get (if x equals to 8 then we divide by zero which is absurd, so the restriction is necessary)

m=p/(8-x)

What is the area of this square?
Sergio [31]
<h3>Answer: D) 144 square cm</h3>

========================================================

Explanation:

A square has all four sides that are the same length. So all four sides are 12 cm

area = side*side = 12*12 = 144 cm^2

Or you could say

area = (side)^2 = (12)^2 = 144 cm^2

Squaring a number is the same as multiplying it by itself. Hence the name "square" refers to a side length pairing up with its corresponding area value.

---------

Side note: The perimeter is 4*(side) = 4*12 = 48 cm. It's possible that choice B is put in there as a trick answer.

Which of the following best describes a basic postulate of the Euclidean geometry
zaharov [31]

The following best describes a basic postulate of the Euclidean geometry

Option first - All lines continue indefinitely.

One of the postulates of the Euclidean geometry states that any straight line segment can be extended indefinitely in a straight line. So according to this postulate, the first one is correct.
