The idea of respecting the elements of nature in Confucianism and the idea of respecting multiple gods in Shintoism was deemed to be one and the same.
A primary reinforcer is a reward that satisfies a basic need (eating, drinking, sleeping). A secondary reinforcer is conditioned or learned. Some examples of secondary reinforcers include money or grades in school. A secondary reinforcer must be learned through experience.
