X - 4y = -10

I’m assuming we have to solve for x, right? So we have to get the “x” alone, so we do the opposite of subtracting and instead add +4y to -4y, which cancels out. Then, we add 4y to the other side of the equation, to -10. This then becomes:

x = 4y - 10

For the second one:
Once again, I’m assuming we have to solve for x. First, we have to do the opposite from addition because we’re added “2y”, so we have to subtract 2y from both sides of the equation. Now it looks like this:

3x = 12 - 2y

Still, we have to divide both sides by 3, because “x” is still not singled out.

So then, it becomes:

3x/3 = -2y+12/3
(The slash is supposed to represent division)

Once we’ve divided both sides, your answer should be:

x = -2y/3 + 4

What is the surface area of the figure?
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

90 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Times the length by the width of one side: 6 x 3= 18

Times 18 by 4 to get the surface area of the 4 rectangular sides: 18 x 4= 72

Times 3 by 3 to get the bottoms surface area: 9

Times 9 by 2 to get both the top and bottoms surface area: 18

Add 72+18 to get the total surface area: 90 ft

Vinil7 [7]
This will take me a long time, but...x+ \frac{3}{4} = x- \frac{1}{5} =x+ \frac{3}{4} -x = x- \frac{1}{5} -x = \frac{3}{4} =\frac{1}{5} =\frac{3}{4} - \frac{3}{4} =\frac{1}{5} - \frac{3}{4}
=\frac{-19}{20}
