To do this problem, we must first look at the balanced chemical equation for the decomposition of potassium chlorate:

2KClO3 --> 2KCl + 3O2

We can take the given amount of grams, and use the molar mass of KClO3 to convert to moles. Then, we can use the stoichiometric ratios to relate moles of KClO3 to moles of O2.

(39.09)+(35.45)+(3*15.99)= 122.51 g/ mol = molar mass of KClO3
45.8 g KClO3/ 122.51 g/ mol KClO3 = .374 moles KClO3
.374 mol KClO3 *(3 moles O2/2 mol KClO3)= .560 moles O2

Once we have moles of O2, we can convert to grams of O2.

(2*15.99)= 31.98 g/mol = molar mass of O2
(.560 moles O2) (31.98 g/mol)= 17.91 g O2

Hope this helps :)

covalent bond would be formed in which pair of elements? Carbon and oxygen, any two noble gasses, sodium and chlorine , between
SOVA2 [1]

Answer:

Carbon and Oxygen, Argon and Helium.

Explanation:

noble gases have full outer shells of electrons, and so cannot share other atoms' electrons to form bonds. sodium and chlorine form an ionic bond.

In aqueous solution amino acids are rarely found in the neutral, unionized form.
True [87]

a. True.

There is always an equilibrium of the type

NH₃⁺CHRCOOH ⇌ NH₃⁺CHRCOO⁻ ⇌ NH₂CHRCOO⁻

The compound is always in an ionized form.

There are no unionized NH₂CHRCOOH molecules in the solution.

"One has more oxygen atoms than the other" best distinguishes carbon dioxide from carbon monoxide

Explanation:

In both carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, there is the presence of carbon and oxygen. However, they vary depending on the number of oxygen atoms. In carbon monoxide, there is the presence of one only carbon and oxygen atom. Thus carbon monoxide is chemically represented as CO. Only about 0.2%ppm of carbon monoxide present in air. carbon monoxide is toxic and causes death in human when not consumed is correct proportion.

Whereas in carbon dioxide, only one carbon atom, and two oxygen atom and hence chemically represented as co2.
