Anyone that can help me with this please?Not soo good at math.
kakasveta [241]

As it is right angled , we can use pythagoras theorem.

Using the therorem :

(x+2)² + (4x+4)² = (5x)²

x² + 4x + 4 + 16x² + 32x + 16 = 25x²

25x² - 17x² - 36x - 20 = 0

8x² - 36x - 20 = 0

2x² - 9x - 5 = 0

2x² -10x + x - 5 =0

2x(x-5) + 1(x-5) =0

(x-5)(2x+1) = 0

x = 5 or x = -1/2

x cannot be -1/2 as it would make hypotenuse negative.

So x = 5

Sides are 7 m, 24 m , 25 m

The area = 1/2 × base × height

Area = 1/2 × 24 × 7 = 84 m²

If an object takes 7 second to fall to the ground, what was its initial height? Show your work.
Verdich [7]

Answer:240.1 m

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following equation that models the the time it takes to an object to fall to the ground:

t_{(H)}=\sqrt{\frac{2H}{g}}

Where:

t_{(H)}=7 s is the time it takes to the object to fall to the ground

H is the object's initial height

g=9.8 m/s^{2} is the acceleration due gravity

Isolating H:

t^{2}=(\sqrt{\frac{2H}{g}})^{2}

t^{2}=\frac{2H}{g}}

H=\frac{t^{2}g}{2}

Solving with the given data:

H=\frac{(7 s)^{2}(9.8 m/s^{2})}{2}

H=240.1 m This is the initial height
