you do:

20 dollars x 10 = 200 dollars 
but 300 dollars - 200 dollars are exactly 100 dollars,
so if you want MORE than 100 dollars, then you do:

20 dollars x 9 = 180 dollars..
300 dollars - 180 dollars = 120 dollars
