expand the brackets:
(x+1)(x-3)
=x^2-3x+x-3
-----------------------------
now we have got rid of the brackets.so it will be :
x^2-3x+x-3+x-5
simplify it now :
=x^2-x-8

answer is I think
x^2-x-8 [Less than or equal to] 0
