Answer: £11.69

Explanation:

1) Work out 2% of £1600:
1600 x 2/100 =36

2) Add it on to the original number to get his new monthly pay:
1600 + 36 = £1636

3) Work out his yearly pay by:

a) finding the amount of months he worked:
46 / 4 = 11.5 months

b) Divide 11.5 into 2 bits and add them on:
1636 x 11 = 17997
1636 x 0.5 = 818

17997 + 818 = £18814

4) To get his pay per week:

18814 / 46 = £409

5) Finally, to get his pay per hour:

409 / 35 = 11.68671...
= £ 11.69

Answer:

  1.  value is 0; x-3 is a factor . . . . . . . . . . . . . .third choice

  2.  evaluates at x = -1; remainder is -11 . . . . first choice

Step-by-step explanation:

Dividing f(x) by (x -a) gives ...

  f(x)/(x -a) = g(x) +r/(x -a) . . . . some quotient and a remainder r

If we multiply this expression by (x -a), we see ...

  f(x) = (x -a)g(x) +r

so

  f(a) = (a -a)g(a) +r . . . . . evaluate the above equation at x=a

  f(a) = 0 +r

  f(a) = r . . . . . . . . . a statement of the remainder theorem

If r=0, then x-a is a factor of f(x) = (x-a)g(x).

___

1. We have "a" = 3, and f(3) = 0. Therefore (x-3) is a factor.

__

2. We have "a" = -1, and f(-1) = -11. Therefore the remainder from division by (x+1) is -11.

Svetradugi [14.3K]
Jace made 3 three pointers and 6 free throws.

3(3) + 6(1) = 15

Free throws = f
Three pointers = t

t(2) = f
t + f = 15

Can someone help solve for X
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

x = 2sqrt(5)

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use the Pythagorean theorem to solve

The legs are x and 8/2 =4

and the hypotenuse is 6

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

x^2 +4^2 = 6^2

x^2 +16 = 36

Subtract 16 from each side

x^2 +16-16=36-16

x^2 = 20

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(x^2) = sqrt(20)

x = sqrt(4*5)

x = sqrt(4) sqrt(5)

x = 2sqrt(5)
